Massanutten, Va. (November 19, 2025) – Massanutten Resort celebrated a major milestone this week with the groundbreaking of its highly anticipated new 55+ active adult community, BluestonePeak at Massanutten Mountain℠, which is expected to welcome its first residents to the heart of Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley next year. A celebratory event brought together the project’s development team, Massanutten Resort executive team members and elected officials, along with a variety of other local representatives. A program of remarks included Steve Krohn, president and chief operating officer of The Resorts Companies, Joel Hensley, chair of the Rockingham County Board of Supervisors, as well as Mark Wagner general manager of Peak Construction, and Robert Cappellini chief executive officer of Evergreene Homes.

Attendees at the event experienced a first look at the future BluestonePeak site, followed by a coffee mixer at the temporary story center with interactive displays and samples from Peak Construction, Evergreene Homes, and the BluestonePeak sales team. Construction has begun on a new permanent sales center, set to open in spring 2026, giving prospective homebuyers a fully immersive introduction to BluestonePeak’s design, amenities, and mountain-inspired lifestyle. Model home construction is also underway, with the first set of homes slated for completion in early 2026, marking the next major development milestone.
